The Ford Motor Company is currently exerting much effort in promoting ethanol as a new source of alternative fuel. They are currently the leader in bringing back and keeping ethanol as a fuel source. This may be part of their whole values and history for going back in time, Henry Ford, the founder of this huge automobile company, had built a quadricycle that used ethanol as its source of power. Ethanol is indeed one of the more rational sources of fuel for it is very much renewable compared to gas. In fact, studies have it that this fuel source could be taking the lead one day in the race for the top source of fuel. Primarily, this is because ethanol could be derived from virtually limitless feedstocks which could be replaced after harvest. On the other hand, petroleum or gas sources could get depleted. With this, Ford is planning on being the leader in this huge race and is planning on crafting around 2 million vehicles that could work with ethanol. As per its effects on the environment? Brian Rippon, the policy manager of Ford Government Affairs’ Global Public Policy team, claims, “It can also reduce greenhouse gas emissions because the process of making it recaptures carbon. No other currently available vehicle technology or alternative fuel – including hybrids and natural gas – provides those benefits.” Ford vice president of Environmental and Safety Engineering Sue Cischke also adds, “Our FFVs are capable of operating on up to 85 percent ethanol (E85), or gasoline, or any mixture in between. And all of our gasoline-powered engines are designed to operate on 10 percent ethanol or E10.” Aside from the already mentioned benefits that the environment and motorists would be receiving by using ethanol as a power source, ethanol also costs much less compared to gasoline. However, one of the main challenges for Ford today is that there is essentially a lack factories or infrastructures that would be able to produce more and more supply of this fuel. However, they seem to have already found an answer to that problem. According to Tom Brewer, the president of Ford Thailand, “Ford has every ambition to put more ethanol vehicles onto the congested roads of Bangkok and every other major city across the kingdom. Ford has the technology and the products to respond today. we’re ready if the Thai consumer and Thai government are ready to support it.” You can shop at Ford Parts Online for Ford tailgate, Ford rear body panel and other auto parts. The Ford Fiesta and the Ford Fusion has been refreshened for the automobile market. And now, this has assisted greatly in keeping the sales and the numbers up. So far, the Ford Focus has remained the best selling vehicle for the Ford of Europe. In fact, for this year, it has already sold some 157,000 units already and yet the year has not yet ended. On the other hand, the Ford Fiesta is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, 2006. Closely following suit is success for it has experienced an increase of some five percent in sales. Last April alone, it sold some 27,100 units. The first four months of 2006 proved to be quite a prediction for the months ahead for Ford in Europe. You see, during this first quarter, Ford in Europe experienced selling 131,00 Ford Fiestas which is actually a nine percent rise in sales compared to the same period for last year. If you put the Ford Fusion’s sales along with the Ford Fiesta’s, the total sales went up to 162,800 units which actually equates to a nine percent increase. According to Stephen Odell, the vice president of marketing, sales, and service of Ford of Europe, “As market leader in the UK, Ford sales feel the affect of slower demand in that region more than others. We are fully confident that we will retain overall market leadership for the year in the UK, without resorting to pursuing unprofitable business. Elsewhere, we continue to have tremendous success in emerging markets, which we expect to continue to grow strongly in the future.” At Ford Parts Online, quality Ford starters and Ford alternators are in stock right at your fingertips, along with parts for many other Ford vehicles, makes, and models. Sometimes automakers really do listen to consumers. In the case of Ford, particularly with its crowd pleasing F-150 pick-up truck, Ford not only is listening, but delivering. What am I talking about? A hot-rod pick-up truck, that’s what. That’s right, Ford is going ahead with plans to market a truly “boss” version of its perennially best selling truck, the F-150, to give many fans just what they have wanted. Read on for a sneak preview of Ford’s soon to be released FX2, a dream-come-true for avid Ford lovers.
With gas prices approaching record levels, some are questioning Ford’s decision to release yet another version of its highly popular full sized pick-up truck, the F-150. Yet, demand for big trucks and SUVs continues to remain strong suggesting that size really does matter for many consumers. True, a smaller truck can be adequate for some motorists however most contractors require the large carrying capacity of the F-150 thus the continued high demand of these types of trucks. Plus, serious pick-up truck drivers will tell you that there is nothing that matches the abundant capacity of an eight foot bed in carrying everything from lumber to yard debris to sport gear and more.
As it is with many truck owners, function is one thing while styling is but another. Base versions of the F-150 are attractive and capable enough, but sport concepts have continued to create so much buzz that Ford is responding to consumer demand by building the FX2. Specifically, the new model is in response to the overwhelmingly positive buzz a concept version has been receiving at auto shows everywhere.
So, what separates the FX2 from the average F-150? Plenty, including the following features as shared by Ford in a recent press release announcing the new model:
-- a dark billet grille
-- a sporty, deep front valance
-- clear headlights paired with platinum bezels
-- monochromatic paint scheme that blends in the bumper, side mirrors, and door handles with the rest of the truck
-- chrome exhaust tip
-- 18 inch wheels
-- black captain chairs with red stitching, available in clothe or in leather
-- flow-through center console with floor shifter
Engine choices haven’t been announced, but Ford has said that its popular 5.4L V8 will be offered. The FX2, a two wheel drive vehicle, will complement an existing off road model, the FX4. Ford builds more versions of its full sized pick up truck than any other manufacturer in the world.
Yes, the FX2 is another part of Ford’s “Bold Moves” promotional campaign. While the new model is based on an existing truck, it does something that Ford is finally learning to do right: listen to its consumers. With the 2007 F-150 FX2, it appears that Ford has responded with certainty.
